Even Celeb Stylist Vernon François Swears By This Old School Tool For Baby Hairs
We love a good “how to” from the stylists behind the manes of our fave celebs. Not only do we get to see how the style was created, we get the intel on all the products used to achieve it. So, we were super tuned in when celeb stylist Vernon François hit up The Wendy Williams Show for a quick tutorial on three must-try celebrity hair trends this season. The man behind the infamous ‘dos of Lupita Nyong’o‘ and Serena Williams walked us through how to create a messy high ponytail, a twisted top knot and a side braided look.

Each model’s look featured an assortment of tools, including Vernon’s own Style Cream and a teased braided extension, which he used to create drama and added height on a twisted top knot.
But, it was his finishing tool that had us screaming yaasss! After Vernon swirled and pinned up model’s hair into a gorgeous top knot, he whipped out his secret weapon for laying baby hairs: his trusty toothbrush! This was such a real hair moment on national television and we love it! Honestly, most of us already know this old school tool and have either used it ourselves or know someone who has. Especially now that baby hairs are once again “on trend.”
He even gave a necessary tip for those of us who like to go overboard:
“The art of doing your edges is to be natural with it and don’t try and force anything,” said Vernon.
