The Leading Ladies Of ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ Are Getting Their Own Barbie Dolls

A Wrinkle In Time

Ava DuVernay’s dreamlike fantasy film adaptation of children’s book A Wrinkle In Time continues to give us the best feels ever. After releasing an epic trailer and images of her intergalactic world, we’ve learned that we can now literally play in it. Well, at least with it with a trio of new Barbie dolls created after the cast.

Oprah Winfrey’s Mrs. Which, Mindy Kaling’s Mrs. Who and Reese Witherspoon’s Mrs. Whatsit have all been transformed into Barbies mirroring their ornate costuming and hair details. Yes, Oprah’s doll has the platinum blonde power ponytail and bejeweled brows and Mindy’s is serving up the luscious textured bun and loose braids while Reese’s is all about that red. (Yes, we’re into hair details wherever they are!). The only thing I would wish for is a curvier Oprah doll (where are her hips?!?)

Not only are the dolls simply gorgeous, we’re excited to see women (and, women of color) being repped in the film franchise world. It may not be an actual Oprah doll — but it’s an Oprah doll. And no one is more here for it than director Ava, herself, who had her own doll created back in 2015 as part of Mattel’s Shero campaign. She took to social media to share the good news:

The film doesn’t hit theaters until March 9, but you can preorder the dolls now. All three retail for $50 each and will be available beginning February 23. Will you be copping one, or all?
